I. Love. Pizza.
I love Classic Cheese, I love it loaded with veggies.
In celebration of both National Pizza month and Vegetarian month, I'm sharing some of my favorite ways to Eat Yer Veggies and pizza at the same time.
I like to build my own pizzas either using pre-made pizza dough or crust, but if you wanna get down on making your own dough, go for it.
My favorite pizzas include pesto as a base. Basil pesto is one of my favorites, but there are so many ways to eat pesto. Some suggestions are: sweet mint, spinach walnut, broccoli basil, cilantro pumpkin seed, spinach pecan, seaweed pesto, lemony pistachio basil, pistachio arugula sweet pea, vegan spinach mint, pea arugula and walnut peso, and roasted pepper and almond pesto. Go nuts. (Pine nut pun.)
Pizza is awesome cause it can be loaded with just about anything. (I’ve seen pizza topped with Mac n cheese, chicken nuggets, eggs and beans...)
Some of my favorite veggies include:
Bell peppers (all the colors)
Basil (fresh or dried)
Toasted pumpkin seeds
Cheeses I like to use include: sliced fresh mozzarella, feta, blue cheese, goat cheese
Fun recipes to try!
